Based in Istanbul, Mert is the founder and producer of Fixer in Turkey. Mert has been providing production support for international film, television and stills photography projects across Turkey for over 15 years. He is also the managing partner of Otm Filmworks, a video production company in Istanbul.
FILMING PERMITS:
You will need a general filming permit for filming in Turkey. We handle filming permit applications and coordinate with the relevant Turkish authorities. Generally speaking, Turkish public authorities are film friendly, although the process can sometimes be confusing. With years of experience working with Turkish officials, we can advise you on the best route to take and the options available for your production.
LOCATION SCOUTING AND SECURING:
Turkey offers visually stunning locations for your projects. We scout and secure film locations in Turkey. We can arrange scouting trips across Turkey including, Istanbul, Izmir, Antalya, Cappadocia and Ankara. We can send you photos, videos and detailed scouting reports, allowing you to evaluate locations remotely.
LOCAL CREWS:
We can source Istanbul based camera operators, sound recordists, gaffers, production assistants, drivers and any other local production crew you may need to create the perfect team for your shoot. We can also provide photographers and assistants for your stills photography production in Turkey.
Depending on the subject of your film, we can also find and hire local researchers to support the project during pre-production.
LOCAL CASTING:
We keep a regularly updated database of Turkey-based actors and extras. Sharing access to this database, we let directors choose local faces. We can also arrange casting sessions before you arrive in Turkey to save time for your production.
HIRING EQUIPMENT:
We can help you bring your own kit to Turkey, but we think it is easier to bring as little as possible - especially since we work with local kit suppliers to hire cameras, grip, lighting kits, teleprompters, stills photography equipment and any other gear you may need.
We can also provide crew and equipment for live streaming services in Turkey.
AERIAL FILMING IN TURKEY:
Fixer in Turkey sources licensed drone operators in Turkey to join your crew or shoot on your behalf. Our experienced operators are mainly based in Istanbul but able to travel throughout Turkey with their own equipment.
